Do I have a problem with violence?

Have you thought or been told that you need anger management, or that others become frightened or upset by your behaviour? Perhaps you have ended up hitting, shoving or kicking someone. Perhaps you feel you have good reasons to react the way you do, even though you do not want to be someone who frightens your partner, your child or others. At ATV you can get help to manage your difficulties in other, more positive ways, becoming a better partner, parent or friend.

How you will be met at ATV

You can get in touch with ATV by calling us. When you get in touch, you will be invited to an initial meeting, to find out if ATV is the right place for you. Following the initial meeting, you might be offered therapy, either individual or group therapy. In therapy you will explore how violence has become a problem for you and to those close to you. Through this process you will get to know yourself better and develop more positive relationships with others. Many people need help to talk about and better understand how violence has impacted their life and the impact on others. The length of therapy varies, and this is something you and your therapist will find out together.
